Thomas J. “Tom” Nowak, 79, of Iuka, Mississippi, died Tuesday, May 28, 2013 at North Mississippi Medical Center in Iuka. He was a member of Iuka Baptist Church, and was retired from the U.S. Navy after 20 years of service, having served in the Vietnam Conflict. He enjoyed bowling and fishing. Visitation is scheduled for 5 until 8 PM on Friday, May 31 at Cutshall Funeral Home in Iuka. Funeral services are scheduled for 11 AM on Saturday, June 1, 2013 18, at Cutshall Funeral Home Chapel in Iuka, officiated by Rev. Jim Manley, Rev. Dr. Ronnie Hatfield, and Rev. Gary Watkins. Interment will follow in Cypress Grove Cemetery. Pallbearers include Stanley Nowak, Todd Carson, David Carson, Dale Carson, Kit Carson, and Christopher Carson. Cutshall Funeral Home of Iuka, MS is entrusted with arrangements. He is survived by his wife, Naomi Nowak of Iuka; his mother, 2 sons – Stanley Nowak (Juli) of Harrisburg, PA and Thomas Nowak of Michigan; 3 step sons – Kit Carson (Linda) of Panama City, FL; Dale Carson of Catania, Sicily, Italy; and David Carson (Linda) of Warner Robins, GA; 1 step daughter – Patricia Carson of Panama City, FL; 2 brothers – Stephen Nowak (Donna) and Leonard Nowak (Karen), both of Niagara Falls, NY; 2 sisters – Polly Pucak and Marjorie Urban, both of Niagara Falls, NY; 7 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren, 8 step grandchildren, and 8 step great grandchildren.
