Thomas J. Keller was received into the arms of his Savior on Monday, May 6, 2024. Born in Abbeville, Alabama, Tom was the youngest of 5 children born to Charles Spurgeon Keller and Byrd Oldacre Keller.
After high school Tom entered the Air Force where he served the next four years. He attended Auburn University, The University of North Alabama, and graduated from Troy State.
In November 1978, Tom opened a Christian bookstore in Florence hoping it would be a place to provide spiritual growth and fellowship around God’s word and the writings of fellow believers. Many share fond memories of frequenting his store.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his older brother, Charles Spurgeon Keller Jr.; his older sister, Nan Rainer (Sam); brother, Jesse Albert Keller (Betty); and brother-in-law, Grover Peebles. He is survived by his wife, Beth Keller; son, Grant McKinnon of CA; stepdaughter Missy Kimbell (Lance); grandson, Brandon; sister, Joy Peebles; and many beloved nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers were Phil Butler, Jason Butler, Micah Butler, Josiah Butler, Isaac Butler, and Barry Wylie.
A private graveside service was held Friday, May 10, 2024.
