Thomas Henry Schell, 85, died Jan. 3, 2016. Visitation will be today from 7-9 p.m., with Rosary at 6:30 p.m., at the funeral home. Funeral services will be Thurday, Jan. 7, 11 a.m., at Our Lady of the Shoals Catholic Church. Father Michael Adams will be officiating. Interment will be at Holy Cross Cemetery.
Mr. Schell was preceded in death by his parents, Henry Michael and Victoria Halter Schell, and sister, Angela Schell Daniels.
Mr. Schell was a veteran of the Korean War. He was a teacher and coach and a member of Our Lady of the Shoals Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus. Thank you to all of the students, players and coaches that had such an influence on his life.
He is survived by his wife, Helen Meyer Schell, of Muscle Shoals; sons, Tim (Sherri), of Florence, Ted (Amy), of Muscle Shoals, and Jack Schell, of Memphis; brother, John A. Schell, of Auburn; grandchildren, Courtney Schell Warden (Andy), Teddy (Stephanie), and Lexee and Max Schell; and several great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Teddy Schell, Max Schell, Andy Warden, Matthew Thompson, Brian Roberts and Wayne Chaney. Honorary pallbearers will be Henry Long, Don Creasey, Willie Morris, Gary Johnson, Thad Purdue, Steve Mask and his “Golf Buddies.”
