Mr. Thomas Hawkins Griffis, Jr. age 70 of Tanner, AL passed away on Wednesday, December 25, 2019 at Decatur Morgan Hospital. Mr. Griffis was born on March 29, 1949 in Limestone County, AL to Thomas Hawkins Griffis, Sr. and Mary Leland Crumpton Griffis.
He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Linda Griffis Bryan of Athens, AL.
Mr. Griffis is survived by his wife, Sharon Vernell Swann Griffis of Tanner, AL; sons, Michael Leland Griffis of Lakewood, CO and Kyle Grigsby Griffis of Tanner, AL; daughter, Sarah Penelope Slager of Madison, AL; granddaughter, Chelsey Leigh Konis of Pulaski, TN; grandson, Tyler Blayne Slager of Madison, AL; great-grandson, Chalice Blayne Konis of Pulaski, TN.
Mr. Griffis was a 1971 graduate of Auburn University. He loved Auburn Football. He graduated in 1967 from Athens High School where he was active in playing music with the Impalas.
