Thomas Harrison Profile PhotoThomas Harold Harrison, 89, passed away on Tuesday, October 15, 2024 at his longtime family home.  Thomas was born in Lamar County, Alabama on October 10, 1935 to the late Lee and Elizabeth Hollimon Harrison.  Thomas was born into a farming family and learned to farm from his father.  When Thomas was in the 8th grade, his family moved from Alabama and settled on Phillips School House Road, where he along with his father continued to farm.  He would go on to graduate from Hatley High School, Class of 1952 where he played basketball.  A year later, on October 23, 1953 Thomas married Eloise Phillips.  They would build a life together that spanned nearly 71 years.  Thomas was a hard worker, retiring from Glenn Manufacturing as a plant manager.  Not one to sit idle, he went to work at Tecumseh and lastly at M&W Butane in Amory.  Although he worked public jobs, his heart and passion was farming, raising cattle and hogs.  A honest, good man and friend to all he knew his presence in the community will be missed.   Thomas worked hard to make sure his family was always taken care of and leaves behind a legacy that will continue to speak to generations of the Harrison family to come.

Thomas is survived by his wife of nearly 71 years, Eloise Phillips Harrison; son, Gary Harrison (Susan), Picayune, MS; grandchildren, Chip Harmon (Melanie), Andy Harmon (Crissy), Cary Neff (Angelo), Brandy Welch and Eric Crisp; great grandchildren, Brittni Edwards (Matthew), Taylor Ferguson (Lee), Kimberly Renfro (Cody), Drew Harmon, Cooper Harmon, Aaron Harmon, Tripp Harmon, Libby Harmon, Cody Smith, Morgan Smith, Caylee Neff and a host of other great and great great grandchildren;  half sister, Ann Crowder; sister in law, Janice Harrison.

In addition to his parents, Thomas is preceded in death by his daughter, Kathy Harrison Crisp; brother, Buddy Harrison and a great great grandson, Gabriel Edwards.

Funeral Services for Thomas will be held at 3 PM on Thursday, October 17, 2024 at Cleveland Moffett Funeral Home in Amory with Ministers Marshall Eubanks and Bobby Cleveland officiating.  Burial will follow in Hatley Cemetery.  Pallbearers will be Matthew Edwards, Cody Renfro, Lee Michael Ferguson, Drew Harmon, Cooper Harmon, Aaron Harmon and Tripp Harmon.  Honorary pallbearers will be Phill Hoots, Jimmy Forbus and Kenny Shelton.

Visitation will be held prior to the service on Thursday from 1 PM until 2:45 PM.
