Thomas Glendel Horton, 85, of Albertville, Alabama, passed away peacefully on October 29, 2024. Born on September 25, 1939, to the late Hubert and Mittie Horton, Thomas was a dedicated member of Mt. Olive Bible Based Fellowship Church. He retired after a lengthy career at Goodyear and later enjoyed working at Marshall Medical Center. He spent his free time as an avid fisherman and playing with his grandkids.
Thomas is survived by his loving wife of 38 years, Opal Dixon Horton; his children, Allen Horton (Dawn), Jeff Horton (Lisa), Tim Roberts (Monica), Kim Smallwood (Scott), and Amanda Chastain (Kevin); as well as many cherished grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his son, Eric Horton, and his sisters, Jeanene Cherry and Sarah Childress.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, November 1, 2024, at Adams Brown Service Funeral Home, officiated by Bro. Chris Kitchens, with burial following at Brashers Chapel Cemetery. The family will welcome friends on Thursday, October 31, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. and one hour prior to the service. Pallbearers include Brady Smallwood, Bryant Roberts, Garrett Chastain, Josh Horton, Nick Horton, and Jansen Gentry, with honorary pallbearers, Dylan, Corbin, Casey, Carter, Bo, Kai, Chip, Henry, Jacob, Xavier, and Matthew.
