On December 10th, 2024, Thomas Gerald Body of Gadsden Alabama passed away at the age of 86 years old.
Thomas was born on May 31st 1938 to Roy and Jewel Body. He attended Etowah High School. At the age of 17 Thomas enlisted in the United States Navy on November 10th 1955 as a Machinest’s Mate.
He sailed on the USS Kermit Roosevelt (ARG-16), and was then later to become honorably discharged in 1957.
Thomas retired from Revere Copper and Steele, then later in 1997 became married to Melissa Shepherd of Gadsden Alabama. Thomas was a loving father and grandfather, and was a jack of all trades. He loved anything outdoors camping, fishing, boating and watching the Price is Right.
Thomas is preceded in death by Roy(Jewel) Body and his brother Chester Body. He is survived by his wife Melissa Body. Children Gerald(Cindee) Body, Phillip(Daphnie) Jones, Raney Body, Lelah(Alex) Rogers, and Scott (Samantha) Nelson. Grandchildren, Justin Jones, Kristen Krnjic, Haley (Heath) Miller, Matt (Charity) Body, Charlee, Jessie, Liam, Clover and Lochlyn. Great Grandchildren, Chloe, Hudson, Hadley, and Bodie.
Thomas will live on in the hearts of everyone who knew him.
Heavenly Father, in this time of deep sorrow, we come to you with heavy hearts from losing a beloved father and grandfather.
We ask for your comfort and peace to wash over us as we navigate through this pain. May their memory be a blessing, and may we find solace in knowing they are now in your loving embrace. Guide us through this difficult time, and grant us strength to carry on with the love they left behind. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
