Thomas E. “Tommy” Clayton – Obituary

Thomas E. “Tommy” Clayton, 80, passed away Saturday, October 3, 2015, at the Sanctuary Hospice House after an extended illness. He was born January 16, 1935 in Dorsey, the son of Charlie and Genevieve Clayton. A used car dealer in East Tupelo for 35 years, he was the owner of City Auto Sales and Auto Land. Tommy was a 32 degree Mason, affiliated with Tupelo Lodge No. 318 and the Valley of Corinth Scottish Rite Masons. He loved watching NASCAR and NFL football.

Graveside services will be 2:30 PM Monday at Lee Memorial Park with Rev. Tim Brown officiating. Visitation will be 1-2:30 at the funeral home. Lee Memorial Funeral Home is entrusted with the arrangements.

He leaves behind his wife, Linda Wheeler Clayton of Tupelo; 2 stepsons, Chad Wheeler (Tresi) of Mooreville and Michael Wheeler (Gippy) of North Carolina; a stepdaughter, Michelle Wheeler of Tupelo; 10 grandchildren, Shelton Worthey, Anthony Wheeler, Drew Wheeler, Hamilton Shoemaker, Storm Wheeler, Greg Wheeler, Shea Wheeler, Gracie Shoemaker, Vanessa Bullard, and Tommy Clayton III; his great-grandson, Payton Bullard.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his son, Eddie Clayton; and a grandson, Chris Clayton.
