Graveside service for Thomas Dyar “T.D.” Clemons, age 70, of Hartselle, will be Tuesday, May 14, 2013, at 11 a.m. at Roselawn Cemetery with Brother Dewain Clemons officiating with Peck Funeral Home directing and the U.S. Army providing honors. Visitation will be from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. tonight at the funeral home.
Mr. Clemons died on Saturday, May 11, 2013, at Decatur Morgan Hospital. He was born November 29, 1942, in Lawrence County to James Hendrix Clemons and Grace Jacobs Clemons. He retired from Amoco Chemical Company and the Morgan County Board of Education. He was preceded in death by his parents; and by two brothers, Bill Clemons and Ferrell Clemons.
He is survived by his wife, Janice Clemons of Hartselle; a son, Thomas Dyar Clemons Jr. of Ft. Lauderdale, Florida; a step-son, Robert Halbrooks of Hartselle; a step-daughter, Wendi Halbrooks Johnson (Tracy) of Decatur; two brothers, Clayton Clemons (Becky) of Cleveland, AL. and James H. Clemons of Hartselle; a sister, Judy Pack (Bill) of Decatur; two sister-in-laws, Kay Clemons of Moody, AL. and Christine Clemons of Hartselle; and two grandchildren, Lannah Johnson and Ashlyn Johnson.
Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
