Thomas Doyle, 82, of Ashland, MS, passed away Thursday, July 5 at Baptist Hospital in Memphis.
A native of Benton County, Mississippi, he was born July 23, 1935, son of the late Alfred Thomas Doyle and Velma Marie Kimery Doyle and was a retired school teacher, having taught 32 years in the Benton County School system, serving as superintendent for four years. He was a graduate of Grand Junction High School and received his BA from Mississippi State and his MA from the University of Mississippi. He was an avid horse and cattleman and was known for his genuine interest in the children in the school system. Mr. Doyle was a Baptist in faith and was a member of Saulsbury Baptist Church.
Survivors include his stepmother, Cleo Doyle Snelling; two step brothers, Henry and Glen Leath; 5 nieces and nephews, Judy Goddard, Sandra Hobson, Joey Doyle, Kim Huddleston and Alicia Doyle; 7 great nieces and nephews; 1 great great niece; 1 great great nephew; 5 step nieces and nephews; 8 step great nieces & nephews and 5 step great great nieces & nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Carolyn Goddard and a brother, Gene Doyle.
