Thomas Clark Smith of Huntsville AL, 89, passed away peacefully on March 24, 2023. He was born June 22, 1933, in Piedmont, AL. He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Barbara Smith; children, Tommy Smith of Athens, GA and Angela Smith of Huntsville, AL; three grandchildren, Lance, of Huntsville, AL, Tyler, and Miranda Smith of Athens, GA; and brother, Mike Smith, of Atlanta GA. He was preceded in death by his brother, Kenneth Smith, of Atlanta, GA.
Clark is a graduate of Huntsville High class of ‘52. He attended Auburn University and was known for being an avid War Eagle fan and attended many games. He was a Navy veteran then spent much of his adult life as a self-employed insurance broker. Clark was a member of the United Methodist Church of Huntsville, and President of the American Heart Association on a local and state level.
When Clark retired from the insurance business, he was able to enjoy some of his favorite pastimes such as boating, fishing, and catching college football games, as well as enjoying a good Atlanta Braves baseball game with his family.
There will be no visitation and a private family graveside service will be held at a later time.
