Thomas Arlon Butler, 84, of Rogersville, passed away Wednesday, February 5, 2025 at his residence after a lengthy illness.
He was a graduate of Lauderdale County High School. Tommy retired from both Ford and Delphi as a tool and die maker. He was also a skilled craftsman and took great pleasure in his endless building projects.
Tommy was a longtime faithful member of Oliver church of Christ, where he served for many years as an elder.
Visitation for Tommy will be Saturday, February 8th from 12 – 2 p.m., with a funeral service following in the chapel. He will be laid to rest at Rogersville Funeral Home Cemetery. Daniel Ridinger and Ronnie Owens will be officiating the service. Pallbearers will be Byron Timothy Butler, Caleb Thomas Butler, Dustin Peek, Titus Peek, Samuel Peek, and Nathan Peek. Lennis Walton, best friend of Tommy, will serve as an honorary pallbearer.
Tommy is preceded in death by his parents, Hollis G. and Maebelle Adams Butler, sons Timothy Arlon Butler and Ted Allen Butler, siblings Jerry Butler, James Earl Butler, Joyce Whitlock, and Royce Butler. He is survived by his devoted wife of 63 years, Enid Wilbanks Butler, daughter-in-law Jena Richardson Butler, grandchildren Ashley (Dustin) Peek, Byron (Kim) Butler, Caleb (Summer) Butler, great-grandchildren Titus Peek, Samuel Peek, Nathan Peek, Harper Butler, Adalyn Butler, Charlotte Butler, and Clara Butler. Tommy is also survived by siblings Charles Butler, Warren Butler, Lonnie Butler, Johnny Butler, Evon Cannon and Catherine Birdwell. Tommy was loved by a host of family and friends.
