Thomas Anthony Young, 66, of Russellville, passed away on Friday, January 28, 2022, at North Alabama Medical Center. Thomas was a lifelong resident of Franklin County and worked for the Housing Authority for 16 years. He was a member and deacon of First Missionary Baptist Church where he also sang in the choir.

The funeral service will be held on Wednesday, February 2, 2022, at 12:00 Noon, at Pinkard Funeral Home Chapel, Russellville. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday from 11:00 a.m., until service time.

He is survived by his wife of 44 wonderful years, Patricia “Pat” Young; daughter, Pamela Young; brothers, Melvin Young, Robert Earl Young, Jerry Wayne Young (Patricia), Terry Young (Allison), and Corey Bean; sisters, Tori Bean, Rose Hamilton and Beverly Guin; brothers-in-law, Jimmy Smith (Gloria), Joe Smith (Nancy), Johnny Smith (Marlon); and Johnny Lee Nance; sister-in-law, Virginia Bookert; uncle, David Winchester; the Apple of Papaw Boo’s Eye, Samuel James Anthony Young; a host of loving nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends who will miss Thomas.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas Bean and Annie Pearl Young; sister, Irene Meade; brother, Thomas Benard Bean.

Pallbearers will be family and friends.

The family wishes to give a special thanks to Amedisys Hospice, Glenwood Healthcare and North Alabama Medical Center for the care given to our dear loved one.

Pinkard Funeral Home, Russellville, is assisting the family.
