Theora Slaton, age 89, of Rogersville, died Friday, May 24, 2013, at Glenwood Healthcare.
She was a member of New Hope Baptist Church.
Visitation will be Monday from 6-8 p.m. at Rogersville Funeral Home. Funeral service will be Tuesday at 2 p.m. in the chapel with Wendell White and Jimmy Grisham officiating. Burial will follow in Harvey Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Michael Davis, Myron Davis, Matthew Davis, Josh Hammond, Andy Bruce, Jerry McCafferty, Mark Slaton and Ronald Slaton.
Mrs. Slaton was preceded in death by her husband, Ethridge Slaton; daughter-in-law, Patsy Slaton; parents, George and Dessie McCafferty; sister, Elizabeth Slaton and brother, Hoyte McCafferty. She is survived by her children, Wayne Slaton, Ross (Peggy) Slaton and Sue (Harold) Davis; grandchildren, Michael (Jeanie) Davis, Myron (Jean Ann) Davis, Matthew (Amanda) Davis, Vickie Slaton, Teresa (Pat) Parker, Mandy Holt, Felicia Turner and Pam (Gaines) Harmon; 16 great-grandchildren; six great-great grandchildren; sisters, Janice (George) Newbern and Betty Hammonds and brothers, Eroy McCafferty.
