Theodore Gustav Thom Jr, of Decatur, passed away on March 28th, 2025.
He will be laid to rest at Roselawn Cemetery.
Theodore(Ted), is survived by his daughter Angela Thom of Decatur.
He is preceded in death by his parents; Theodore G. Thom Sr., and Florine Mauldin Thom, wife; Geraldine Dunnivan Thom, son; Michael Gregory Thom, and his brother; Ben Thom.
Ted grew up in Boaz, AL, attended Snead State College and The University of Alabama, served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War, worked as a mathematician at NASA, then as an engineer at Browns Ferry Nuclear Plant until retirement. He was an avid tennis player in the USTA in the 60’s and 70’s.
After retirement, he worked for News America Marketing until his health declined at age 91.
In later years, he enjoyed walking and spending time with his beloved dogs.
