Mr. Theaphlias Benjamin Terrell Theaphlias Benjamin Terrell, Sr. was born May 21, 1951 in Flint, Michigan, son of Bennie and Mareno Terrell. He passed away on October 2, 2024 at UAB Heart and Vascular Hospital in Birmingham, AL.

Theaphlias attended school in Flint, Michigan and Sturgis, Michigan. He graduated from Sturgis High School in 1969. While in high school he excelled in football and track, where he received all conference and all state honors. He turned down scholarships to attend ITT Technical Institute in Grand Rapids, Michigan, graduating in 1971. One of his hobbies was bowling.

Mr. Terrell worked for various government contracting companies before joining Biometrics Corporation in 1992 as Lead Technician. In 1999, he was promoted to Engineering Manager of their Photo Services Department and in 2002 was name Operations Manager of the Photo Division, until 2020 when he semi-retired.

He was preceded in death by: parents; grandparents: Joseph and Ethel Edwards, John and Myrtis Terrell; wife, Charine Terrell; son, William Terrell, Sr.; brothers: Gregory Edwards and Arthur Terrell; and uncle, Eddie Edwards.

He leaves to cherish his precious memories: two sons: Theaphlias B. Terrell, Jr., and Eddie Terrell; sister, Yvette Veal; brother, Pierre   Terrell (Felicia); grandkids: William Terrell, Jr., Andre Terrell,   Nathan Terrell Stone, Pierre Smartt, Tyriek Smartt, and JaKari Moore; nephews: Jeremy Veal (Ashley), Antonio Veal, and Cornelius Jones (Nicole); uncle, Wendell Edwards (Sandra); aunts: Marilyn Edwards and Betty Edwards; daughter-in-law, Cora Smith Terrell;  father and mother-in-law: Charlie and Alice Harper; sisters-in-law, Debbie Edwards, LoLeta Terrell, and Brenda Rice; brothers-in-law: Charlie Harper and Burton Harper; best friend. Lee Burkfield (Sue); special friend, Corrie Walwyn; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Funeral service will be 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, October 15, 2024 at the Royal Chapel of Memories (4315 Oakwood Avenue NW Huntsville, AL 35810) with Pastor Theodis Acklin officiating. Interment will be in the Meadowlawn Garden of Peace. Mr. Terrell will lie in repose one hour prior to funeral time.

Public viewing will be held from 12:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m., Monday, October 14, 2024 and 8:30 a.m. until 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, October 15, 2024 at the Royal Funeral Home.
