ZIP CITY – Yep. Once a year the horses get to kick back, eat some oats… maybe some sweet grass, and let the Fire Department throw a rodeo without their help.
Saturday, the folks there held their 4th Annual Horseless Rodeo. And it was some of the best fun you’ve ever seen! Music and food and good times on one of the nicest weather-days of the year… PK Western Store and Robert Walker and friends were on hand to keep things moving from chicken wrangling to frying pan throwing… post hole digging, goat roping… The goat roping was a sight to behold…
And all the proceeds benefitted the Zip city Volunteer Fire Department.
The Quad-Cities Daily was on hand to record the day in EVENT PHOTOS. We present them here. Enjoy!
