UPDTED FORECAST:

“A few showers/thunderstorms are possible today but much of the day should be dry. Near record high temps expected again with once again, warm overnight lows. Rain chances increase after midnight ahead of the next system.

This next system will bring a line of showers and thunderstorms west to east across the area Monday morning through Monday evening. These thunderstorms will likely worsen the flooding conditions already occurring and potentially cause flash flooding in many spots. Some of the storms may also become severe with damaging wind gusts a possibility. See the attached briefing PDF for additional information.”

“Another round of rain is expected on Monday as a line of thunderstorms moves across the region. Rainfall amounts of 1 to 2 inches with locally higher amounts are possible. This rain will be in addition to the near record rainfall many areas had on Friday. This could lead to significant flash flooding and a continuation of moderate to major flooding across the Tennessee Valley.”
