MUSCLE SHOALS—FAME Recording Studios and the Muscle Shoals Music Foundation are looking to the future and inviting musicians from around the world to Alabama to audition for The Call: Muscle Shoals.
Beginning in July and continuing through November 2014, interested male and female vocalist ages 12 to 50 are invited to register and audition for a panel of award winning music industry professionals on selected weekends.
Being a professional singer is not a requirement of the program, as this event is meant to evaluate talent. All participants will receive a professionally mixed recording and video of their audition. Panelists will also offer written feedback on each singer’s talent and suggestions for the next best step in the Artist’s professional growth. The program has a registration fee of $200 a portion of which benefits the Muscle Shoals Music Foundation (MSMF).
Rodney Hall
Rodney Hall, president of FAME studios and chairman of the MSMF board, said the goal is to find new talent and hopefully sign some auditioning singers to recording, publishing and development contracts. “We are always looking for talented people with passion and drive,” Hall said. “We are very excited about the program we will offer to our auditioning artists” The Call: Muscle Shoals executive producer Shawn Patrick said. “Quality talent always rises to the top, and creative people thrive in positive experiences. That is what we will provide for those who audition. We will provide a development platform that artists can use to grow their careers. We plan to continue in the traditions of Muscle Shoals Music. The quality of our program must be as good as the history of the sound.” Patrick said.
The Call: Muscle Shoals is now taking audition registrations for male and female vocalist ages 12 to 50. Audition space is limited and will be filled in order of completed registration and agreement to the terms and conditions of the program. All participants will be grouped with artists in similar age groups and similar musical styles when possible. Anyone under 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
