MUSCLE SHOALS – Over 120 local high school students will demonstrated their skills in the annual welding competition and salon and spa skills competition on Friday, March 24, on the Northwest-Shoals Community College (NW-SCC) Shoals campus.
Local high schools competing were: Allen Thornton Career Technical Center, Ardmore High School, Central High School, Cherokee High School, Colbert Heights High School, Colbert County High School, Collinwood High School (TN), Florence High School, Franklin County Career Technical Center, Haleyville High School, Hardin County High School (TN), Lawrence County Career Technical Center (AL), Lawrence County High School (TN), Limestone County Career Technical Center, Muscle Shoals Career Academy, Russellville High School, Tanner High School, Wayne County High School (TN), Winston Career Academy.
The Salon and Spa and Welding programs at NW-SCC are designed to develop the skills necessary to enter and maintain a job in their respective fields. They are equipped with industry standard equipment and facilities to provide training for new students or professionals who need to enhance their skills.
