TUSCUMBIA-Muscle Shoals songwriter and artist Mark Narmore’s long awaited new album This Old Wurlitzer is a tribute to the Wurlitzer electric piano and its soulful players and was recorded at Creative Workshop in Nashville and the NuttHouse in Sheffield, Alabama. All but one of the album’s 14 songs were co-written by Narmore, the only cover being the previously unrecorded Dan Penn/Donnie Fritts gem “Honest To Goodness”. Half of the album’s tracks are intimate solo performances and on the other half he’s joined by the crack band of drummer Lynn Williams (Muscle Shoals Allstar, Delbert McClinton, Wallflowers), bassist Paul Ossola (Saturday Night Live Band, Levon Heim) and producer Andreas Werner on Guitar. Many of Muscle Shoals’ greatest session musicians are guesting on the album as well, including the Muscle Shoals Horns, David Hood, Spooner Oldham, Mickey Buckins, Peanutt Montgomery, Will McFarlane, Kelvin Holly, David MacKay, Cindy Walker, Marie Lewey along with Wet Willie’s Jimmy Hall.

A successful songwriter, Mark Narmore is best known for writing the number one country hit “That’s What I Love About Sunday” for Craig Morgan and other hits like Shenandoah’s “The Moon Over Georgia” and Blackhawk’s “Like There Ain’t No Yesterday”. Narmore grew up in Center Star, Alabama surrounded by the music of his first cousin, legendary keyboardist and Rock and Roll Hall of Famer Spooner Oldham and started playing the piano and writing
