Tess Ringelstein Ramsey – Obituary

tessTess Ringelstein Ramsey, 78, of Florence, passed away peacefully December 15, 2015 at her residence with her loved ones by her side. She was a member of Chisholm Hills Church of Christ. She was lovingly referred to as “Mimi”, a devoted and caring wife, mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She especially enjoyed helping her customers at the Wearhouse Clothiers.

Visitation will be Friday, December 18, 2015 from 12-2 p.m. at Greenview Funeral. The funeral service will begin at 2 p.m. in Greenview Memorial Chapel with Charles Abernathy and Ellis Coats officiating. Burial will follow in Greenview Memorial Park.

Mrs. Ramsey was preceded in death by her parents, Herman and Leona Ringelstein; sister, Margaret Whitten; brothers, G.W. and David Ringelstein; and sister, Doris Nix.

She is survived by her husband, William Douglas Ramsey; son, Eddie Ramsey (Susan) of Killen; daughter, Leigh Simmons of Muscle Shoals; sister, Maize Jefferies of Florence; grandchildren, Justin Ramsey (Jennefer) of Boca Raton, Florida, Tyler Ramsey of Killen, Chandler Simmons of Muscle Shoals, Ramsey Simmons of Muscle Shoals; great-grandchildren, Carly and Madison Ramsey both of Boca Raton, Florida; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Active pallbearers will include: Justin Ramsey, Tyler Ramsey, Chandler Simmons, Ramsey Simmons, Todd Nix, David Ringelstein, Gary Utley, and Mike Utley.

Jeremy and Brock Utley, and Ken Sockwell will serve as honorary pallbearers.

The family would like to express a special thanks to Dr. Robert Mann, Dr. J. Patrick Daugherty, and the staff of Northwest Alabama Cancer Center, Gentiva Home Health, Gentiva Hospice, especially Jean-Marie, Victoria, Melissa, and Lisa who took wonderful care of Mrs. Ramsey.
