He is predeceased by his parents Robert Sr. and Margie Hopson, brother Robert Jr. and his niece Rebecca Hopson. Terry accepted Jesus as his Savior in June 1995 and was baptized at Iron City Baptist Church. Terry was a heavy equipment operator and loved the big machines. He once said, “I don’t belong inside.” He loved fishing and going out on the boat with his son Gary. He would sit for hours on the patio at his apartment complex and watch the birds and squirrels which he named. He loved it so much that he sat one evening until very late and realized he didn’t have his key or his phone to get back in the complex. With no way to get in or call anyone he spent the night outside in a chair on the patio. He said he wouldn’t do that again. He struggled so much this year but he came out the victor over death. His boys meant the world to him and he spoke of them often. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him. There will never be another like Terry Lynn Hopson.
There will be a memorial service for Terry on Saturday, December 16th at Iron City Baptist Church at 11:00.
