Terry Lamar Broome, 75, of Scottsboro, Alabama passed away on November 15, 2023. He was born to
T.S. and Duene (Smith) Broome in Lafayette, GA on August 25, 1948. He was the oldest brother of five
children: Yvonne Allen (Barry), Carrollton, GA; Marty Broome (Beverly) of Dasher, GA; Spencer Broome
(Renee) of Valdosta, GA; and Hillary Broome (Deborah) of Murfreesboro, TN.
Terry married his love, Kathy Gail McNally, of McPherson, KS on August 23, 1968. Together they spent
55 years as a devoted couple serving their Lord. They have two daughters, Amy Dawn Broome
(deceased), and Tera Janay Broome Pressnell (Chris) of Decatur, AL. They have two sons, David Lamar
Broome (Sharon) of Thompsons Station, TN and Michael John Broome (Christie) of Murfreesboro, TN.
Terry and Kathy share 14 nieces and nephews along with 18 great nieces and nephews. They are
blessed with nine grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
Terry was proceeded in death by his infant daughter, Amy Dawn Broome, his parents T.S. and Duene
Broome, and his younger brother, Spencer Broome.
Terry was a 1970 graduate of Oklahoma Christian College. Over a 54 plus year career in fulltime
ministry, he served the following congregations: Nicoma Park Church of Christ, Nicoma Park, OK; East
Okmulgee Church of Christ, Muskogee, OK; Forrest Park Church of Christ, Valdosta, GA; Florence Blvd.
Church of Christ, Florence, AL; and Broad Street Church of Christ, Scottsboro, AL. He preached the
gospel on a local television show, “Lifeline;” authored hundreds of newspaper, magazine, and bulletin
articles; and designed study guide and curriculum for congregations, colleges, and the Lads to Leaders
program.
Funeral Services for Terry Broome will be held at the Broad Street Church of Christ in Scottsboro, AL at
2:00 p.m. Sunday, November 19, 2023. A graveside service will be held at Cedar Hill Cemetery in
Scottsboro, AL immediately following the funeral. The family can be greeted at visitation at the Broad
Street Church of Christ on Saturday, November 18, 2023, between 5:00 and 7:00 p.m. Mr. Broome will
also lie in state one hour before the funeral services begin on Sunday.

Terry leaves this life bidding us all to love our friends and family well, seek deep relationships, be
devoted to hard work and enjoy a good dose of fun. Most importantly, he pleads with us all to seek the
truth in God’s Word and to meet him at the feet of Jesus.
