Mr. Terry. L. Hughes, age 62, a resident of Columbia, passed away Sunday, March 7, 2021 at Maury Regional Medical Center.
A funeral service will be held on Thursday, March 11, 2021 at 2PM at Heritage Funeral Home with Josh Hardin officiating. Burial will follow in Cedar Hill Cemetery. A visitation will also be held on Thursday from 12-2PM at the funeral home. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
Born on March 5, 1959 in Columbia, Terry was the son of Jane Brooks Hughes and the late Houston Hughes. He attended Columbia Central High School, in his younger years, worked framing houses and later worked for Nickell Company, LLC. Most recently, he worked as a truck driver for Smith Trucking. He loved driving race cars and riding horses and Harley Davidson motorcycles. He also enjoyed hunting and fishing.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by his son, Jesse Hughes of Culleoka; daughter, Jenni Atkins of Spring Hill; sisters: Jan (Steve) Webb of Columbia, Carla Hughes Webb of Culleoka; grandchildren: Houston Tripp Hughes, Addy Atkins, Aubree Atkins; nieces and nephews: Lacey Webb (her father, Larry Webb), Justin (Kelsey) Webb; great niece, Kieley Webb; and special friends: John Meade, Greg Lewis, Carl Garner, and Paul Hughes.
Pallbearers will be: Paul Hughes, John Meade, Carl Garner, Calvin Hughes, Ronnie Byrd, and Kevin Harmon.
