  Terry Dee DyerTerry Dee Dyer, age 62, died Tuesday, April 20, 2021 after a sudden illness.
Deputy Dyer, “Bear” as he was affectionately known by family and friends, was born on April 25, 1958, the son of the late Robert J. and Gerthie Maness Dyer. Following his service in the United States Army, Terry followed his calling into law enforcement and served with area agencies including the Lexington Police Department, and the Jackson Police Department, then began his career with the Madison County Sheriff’s Department in 2017. He was an avid fisherman, who would fish for anything that swims, and enjoyed hunting deer as well.
Terry is survived by a daughter, Emma Dyer of Humboldt, TN and her mother, Stephanie Kail; a son, Johnnie Snider; three sisters, Bobbie Moody of Lexington, TN, Patsy (Rick) Bingham of Bethel Springs, TN, and Lillian Williams of Huron, TN; four brothers, Bill (Joy) Dyer of Green Valley, AZ, Jim Dyer of Clarksville, TN, Ronnie Dyer and Robert Dyer both of Lexington, TN; and two grandchildren, Elliot Bridges and Zaylen Snider.
He was preceded by his parents and a brother Jerry Lynn Dyer.
SERVICES: A funeral service with law enforcement honors, will be held at 2:00 PM Sunday, April 25, 2021 at West Jackson Baptist Church, 580 Oil Well Road, Jackson, TN. Burial will follow in the Lexington City Cemetery, Lexington, TN.
The family will be receiving friends on Saturday, April 24, 2021 from 2:00 PM until 5:00 PM at Arrington Funeral Directors.
