Terry D. Long, age 79, of Leoma, TN passed away Monday, November 11, 2024, at his residence. He was a native of Greenwood, SC, retired engineer from Stennis Space Center, former principal in the Picayune School District, and of the Baptist Faith. Mr. Long served his country honorably in the U.S. Navy.
He was preceded in death by his parents, James Raymond Long, Sr. and Hazel Newton Long; and one brother, James Raymond Long, Jr.
He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Yvonne Maxine Long of Leoma, TN; one daughter, Jacqueline “Jacqui” Diana Boettcher (Joe) of Hendersonville, TN; one granddaughter, Elsa Yvonne Boettcher of Hendersonville, TN; and one niece, Angela G. Long Russell of SC. Those serving as pallbearers are Joe Boettcher, Puddin Ruffin, Eddy Spears, Jr. Littrell, Ray Cobb, Jeremy Cobb, Justin Cobb, and Jimbo Brooks.
Arrangements are being handled by Neal Funeral Home, 231 N. Military Avenue, Lawrenceburg, Tennessee. The family will receive friends from 12:00 PM to 1:30 PM Friday, November 15, 2024, at Neal Funeral Home. Graveside services and interment will be conducted at Lawrence County Memorial Gardens with full military honors at 2:00 PM Friday, November 15, 2024, with Chad Clanton officiating.
