Former Alabama resident, Terry A. Bates, 59, loving father and husband, died June 22, 2020 at his home in Apopka, Florida. Mr. Bates was born November 9, 1960 in Birmingham, Alabama to C.W. and Kathleen Bates. He worked many years for Southern Company Services where he retired. He had a love for fishing and boating. As a young boy he enjoyed Scouting and through the years worked his way up to become and Eagle Scout. Mr. Bates is preceded in death by his father, C. W. Bates. He is survived by his wife, Sandra Powell; daughter, Stephanie Bates; step-daughter, Kristen Collins; grandson, Brayden Houston; granddaughter Alexandria Byrd; mother, Kathleen Bates; sisters, Marsha Reeves and Donna Pitts; a nephew, niece, great-nephew and several aunts, uncles and cousins. A graveside service will be held Monday, June 29, 2020 at 11:00 am in McCormack Cemetery, Dora, Alabama.
