Teresa Lynn Stamper, affectionally known by many as “Tookie”, of Madison, AL passed away Sunday, November 19, 2023.
She was born in Kentucky on January 14, 1949 to Otis and Ruby Stamper and was a 1967 graduate of Butler High School. Teresa retired from Bellsouth after 31 years of service. In 2001, she began at Channel 31 as “Director of First Impressions” (receptionist) where she lovingly worked alongside her WAAY-TV family for 21 years.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Gary “Boomer” Stamper.
Teresa is survived by son, Chad Petty (Beth); daughter, Cassy Petty Hammons; life partner, Mike Williams; five grandchildren; three great grandchildren; sisters, Debbie McAnally (Jake), Vicki Johnson, Tammy Schrimsher (Dan); sister-in-love, Melinda Stamper; numerous nieces and nephews as well as an abundance of lifelong friends.
She was a god-fearing, Jesus-loving believer who followed the Golden Rule as perfectly as anyone. She loved her family deeply and adored her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 9:30 am till 11:00 am, Saturday, November 25, 2023 at Laughlin Service Funeral Home followed by the funeral service at 11:00 am. Burial will follow in Faith Memorial Park Cemetery.
