Terence Eugene Tate entered this world in the loving care of Elaine Harrison and Michael Tate on the 4th of May, 1980, within the compassionate walls of Carroll County Hospital, Huntingdon, TN. His educational journey saw him waving goodbye to Huntingdon High School in 1998, moving forward to Southwest Community College by 2000, and proudly graduating from The University of Memphis in 2004. High school years were filled with cherished moments, especially those spent playing football and basketball.
Post-college, Terence ventured into the professional world in Memphis, Tennessee, initiating his career with Dewalt Power Tools as an Area Retail Specialist. Not long after, his entrepreneurial spirit took flight, leading him to start ventures in lawn care and tax preparation. His journey of impact continued as he dedicated time to teaching and coaching at Carver Middle School, and guiding young minds at Youth Villages. His entrepreneurial spirit led him to found his own tax business, which he later expanded alongside his brother Markee, establishing the successful Tax Refund Firm and Liberty Tax Services.
Terence’s heart held a special place for his alma mater, The University of Memphis, where he was a passionate supporter and frequent attendee at the basketball games. Brother Terence E. Tate, a Master Mason, upheld the values of Free Masonry (Prince Hall Affiliated).
A devout follower of his faith, Terence was a lifelong member of St. John Missionary Baptist Church in McKenzie, TN, where he embraced his Christian faith early in life.
Terence’s journey on earth came to an end on March 18, 2024. Mourning his departure are those who preceded him in the afterlife: his beloved wife, Felcia Tate; his paternal grandmother, Willie T. Tate; his maternal grandparents, Ida Mae and Emanuel Harrison; and his sister, Erica Tate Harris. His memory will be eternally cherished by his loving parents, Elaine Harrison and Michael and
