Ms. Tena Marie Taylor, age 66, of Arab, Alabama, passed away on March 2, 2025, at Diversicare of Arab. She was born on November 24, 1958, to the late Charlie and Bonita Rice Elrod.
Tena was a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She is survived by her best friend, Davie Lawrence; her son, Christopher Michael (Haleigh) Hughes; her daughter, April Michelle Hughes; and her cherished grandchildren, Christopher Michael Hughes, Jr., DeeAnn Hughes, and Josie Elizabeth Boland. She also leaves behind her brothers, Jody (Joan) Elrod and James “Cowboy” (Misty) Elrod, and her sisters, Sheridan Edmonds, Charlene (David) Stone, Cynthia (Chuck) Bizarth, and Donna Cochran.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Charlie and Bonita Elrod; her brothers, James Thomas Elrod and Edward “Cooter” Oneal Elrod; and her sisters, Wanda Pledger and Mary Whitaker.
A funeral service to honor Tena’s life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 6, 2025, in the Chapel of Adams Brown Service Funeral Home. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow at Union Grove #1 Baptist Church Cemetery in Albertville, Alabama.
Tena will be deeply missed by those who knew and loved her.
