Teddy Lamar Grissom, 61, of Hillsboro passed away Wednesday, November 21, 2018 at his home. Visitation 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Sunday, November 25, 2018 at Calvary Tabernacle in Moulton. The funeral service will follow at 1 p.m. with Brothers Kenny and Kenneth Rogers officiating. Burial will be in Fergason Cemetery.
A student at Midway School and a veteran of the U.S. Army National Guard, Teddy worked at Ascend for 27 years where he was known as “Blue.” He was a member of Calvary Tabernacle UPC where he served as an usher. Like all true Alabama fans (he loved Alabama football) Teddy looked forward to watching every game with his son. Teddy will be remembered as a great and loving husband, father, PawPaw, godfather and “Poppa Teddy” to all who knew him. He also enjoyed helping anyone in need, spending time with family and friends, and visiting the Burn Unit in Birmingham, where he loved giving out Christmas baskets and sharing his testimony of how God healed him. Many lives have been touched by his testimony.
Survivors include his wife of 41 years, Kay Grissom; son, Jason Grissom (Holly); grandchildren, Emily Dawn Grissom and Hannah Grace Grissom; goddaughter, Kayla Brianna Bogle; brothers, J.D. (Flo) Grissom, Anthony Grissom (Peggy), Randy Grissom (Lisa), Buddy Landers (Linda), Lynn Grissom and Ricky Landers; and his fur baby, Gidget.
