Ted Williams Hammond, age 66, of Lexington, AL passed away Saturday, April 11, 2015. He was a native of Lawrence County, TN, a 1966 graduate of Lexington High School, and retired machinist from TVA: Browns Ferry Nuclear Plant. He was Papa to his two grandchildren and will be remembered by his big laugh. He was also a member of American Legion Post 11, Lauderdale County Cattlemen’s Association, and Lexington United Methodist Church. Mr. Hammond served his country honorably in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam Era.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Horace and Ellen Newton Hammond; and one brother, Gilbert Hammond.

Arrangements are being handled by Neal Funeral Home, 231 N. Military Avenue, Lawrenceburg, Tennessee. The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM Tuesday, April 14, 2015 at Lexington United Methodist Church in Lexington, AL. Funeral services will be conducted at Lexington United Methodist Church at 11:00 AM Wednesday, April 15, 2015, with Kenny Baskins and Samuel Hayes officiating. Mr. Hammond will lie in state at the church from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM. Interment will follow at Pettus Cemetery in Lexington, AL with full military honors. Family suggests memorials be made to Lexington United Methodist Church or the charity of your choice.
