Funeral service for Ted Wayne McKelvey, age 46, of Decatur, will be Friday, July 7, 2017, 2:00 p.m. at Shelton Funeral Home Chapel with Josh Sparkman officiating. The family will receive friends for three hours prior to service. Interment will be in East Lawrence Memorial Gardens.
Mr. McKelvey, who died Monday, July 3, 2017, at River City Center, was born June 2, 1971, in Hardin County, TN, to Herman Franklin McKelvey, Jr. and Ann Fowler McKelvey. He was preceded in death by his father, and one brother, Tim F. McKelvey. Mr. McKelvey was employed by the City of Decatur Fire Department for 17 years, where he served as firefighter, battalion chief, and instructor.
He is survived by one daughter, Tara McKelvey Richey (Logan) of Columbus, MS; his mother, Ann McKelvey of Florence; one brother, Tony McKelvey (Cindy) of Florence; two nephews; and two nieces.
The Decatur Fire Department will serve as pallbearers.
