Ted Hargett McAllister, age 78, of Russellville, passed away on Monday, October 09, 2023 at his residence.

Ted proudly served his nation in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam Era.  He was a retired truck driver from Walmart Distribution.  He was an avid Alabama fan and a deer hunter.    He was a loving PawPaw and his family will cherish his memory.

He was preceded in death his father, William Nathaniel McAllister; mother, Josephine Hargett McLemore; and great-granddaughter, Oaklynn Rose Newton.

He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Wanda Nelms McAllister; children, Kesha McAllister Graham (Oscar), Michelle Siquina, LaWanda Slager (Chris), Angela Abernathy, Allie Williford; grandchildren, Johnathan Rose, Alexis Siquina, Matthew Crawford (Shay), Cainen Fleming, Christopher Craig, Mason Newton (Meagan), Braden Newton (Kaiden), Kilan Newton (Destiny), Danica Graham; 10 great-grandchildren; siblings, Camille Prince, Max McLemore, Pam Sterling (Mark), special sister, Linda Bragwell; brothers-in-law, Daniel Nelms, Danny Nelms; mother-in-law, Marie Flannagan; special nephew, Billy Gravitt and other nieces & nephews.

The visitation will be 11:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. Friday, October 13, 2023, at Spry Memorial Chapel.  The funeral will follow at 12:30 in the chapel with Bro. Hal Bingham speaking at the service.  Military honors will be at the funeral home.   The burial will be at Knights of Pythias Cemetery.

The pallbearers will be Matthew Crawford, Cainen Fleming, Mason Newton, Braden Newton, Kilan Newton, and Billy Gravitt.  The honorary pallbearer will be Johnathan Rose.

The family would like to extend a heartfelt thanks to nurses and staff of Clearview Cancer Center and Affinity Hospice for the love and care of our family.

Spry Memorial Chapel assisted the family.
