Ted Alton LovettTed Alton Lovett, aged 73, a lifelong resident of Mt. Pleasant, Tennessee, peacefully passed away on the morning of October 29, 2023, at his home.

 

A funeral service to celebrate his life will be held on Tuesday, October 31, 2023, at 10:00 AM at Heritage Funeral Home with Scott Lovett and Blake Lovett officiating. Following the service, he will be laid to rest in Arlington Cemetery in Mt. Pleasant with military honors provided by the United States Army. A visitation will be held on Monday, October 30, 2023, from 4:00 – 8:00 PM at the funeral home. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

 

Born in Maury County, Tennessee, on June 17, 1950, Ted was the son of the late James Edward Lovett and the late Carrie Virginia Josephine Swan Lovett. He graduated from Hay Long High School in 1968 and proudly served in the United States Army during the Vietnam Era. In 1971, he married Barbara Vaughan, who preceded him in death in 2008. Ted dedicated many years to his career as an Accountant, initially with Sloan Ford and later at CPS in Franklin for eleven years before relocating to Kantus (later Calsonic) where he worked for twelve years. Ted had a passion for farming, particularly raising cows, and he also enjoyed fishing and traveling. He took great pleasure in watching sports, with a special fondness for watching his grandchildren play, and he was an avid Tennessee Vols fan.

 

He is survived by his sons, Scott Lovett of Columbia, Brian (Mary Beth) Lovett of Mt. Pleasant, daughter, Kelly (Corey) Lacy of Summertown, brothers, Delmer Lovett of Mt. Pleasant, Carl (Cathy) Lovett of Mt. Pleasant, sisters, Sandy (Danny) Wood of Mt. Pleasant, Charlene (Mike) Craig of Mt. Pleasant, Lisa (Marty) Cummins of Mt. Pleasant, grandchildren, Brandon Lovett, Mary Catherine Lovett, Jason Lovett, Ashtin Lacy, Preston Lacy, Maggie Lacy, Madison Breece Hunter, and several nieces and nephews.

 

In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Pam Lovett.

 

Pallbearers will be Marty Lovett, Greg Brady, Greg Wood, Alan Lovett, Blake Lovett, Adam Holt, Kevin Wood, and Bubba Holt.
