Tammy Swanner Loyd, 61 of Athens, passed away on Tuesday, August 15th, 2023, at her home surrounded by her family. Mrs. Loyd was born on September 3rd, 1961, in Limestone County, to Grady Swanner and Carolyn Ferrell Newton.
Mrs. Loyd is survived by her husband Tom Loyd; son Chase Marsh; daughters Tabitha Mann (Joel), Kansas Collingsworth (Doug), and Carmen Zelaya (Jose); mother Carolyn Newton; father Grady Swanner (Janice); brothers Joey Swanner (Dana) and Mark Swanner (Kristy); stepsister Lori Somerville; stepbrothers Robert Newton and James Newton; grandchildren Anson, Eliza, Baylen, Breckyn, David, Sophia, and Lily; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services for Mrs. Loyd will be Friday, August 18th, 2023, at 12:00pm at First Bible Church Madison Campus, with Steve Bateman officiating. Visitation will be Friday from 10:00am – 12:00pm at the church. Burial will be at Huntsville Memory Gardens.
Tammy was a devoted wife, mom, and Mimi. Her grandchildren were her joy; she lived to spoil them, and she loved them with all her heart. She enjoyed many things such as boating, tennis, and music. She dearly loved her Lord and was active in her church, loved opportunities to serve, and being a part of charitable opportunities. One thing she loved the most was entertaining and opening her home to those she loved.
