Tammie S. Casey
1963-2013
“I’ve fought a good fight. I’ve kept the faith. Amazing grace has won the race. Swing wide the gates, I’m coming home…”
Tammie Sabrina Barnes Casey, 50, was born on Jan. 14, 1963, to the late Amzie Lee Barnes Sr. and Queen Doss Barnes. She was the younger of four siblings.
She departed this life on Monday, Oct. 7, 2013, at her home of a massive heart attack. She was blessed in life and death because she knew the Lord.
Tammie was a 1981 graduate of the Cherokee Vocational High School. During her career, she worked at the Kroger Company, H.D. Lee Apparel and Wise Alloys Company. She retired in 2006 due to illness.
She was a good mother, daughter, sister, family member and friend that you could find. Tammie was surely such a person, excelling in all her ways, a woman of grace, strength and beauty who lived her life well and did for others. She loved her son and granddaughter dearly. She raised them to the best of her ability and did a super job. She will be greatly missed.
She was a member of the First Missionary Baptist Church, Cherokee. Tammie served the Lord and her church faithfully as church clerk, finance secretary and choir member.
