T.F. Rich – Obituary

T.F. Rich, Killen, Ala., formerly Collinwood, Tenn., was born Jan. 2, 1926, in Wayne County, Tenn., the son of the late Marion Harrison and Lydia Pearl Gillis Rich.
Mr. Rich was a retired warehouser, a Christian, being baptized Nov. 29, 2014, and a U.S. Army veteran and departed this life Friday, Jan., 2015, at El Reposo Nursing Home, Florence, Alabama, at the age of 89 years.
Survivors include his wife of over 57 years, Rachel Rich; daughter, Carol Gist and husband, Randy; grandchildren, Johnny and Sara Gist, all of Killen; brother, Carl Rich, Iron City, Tenn.; sisters-in-law, Loyal Rich, Cypress Inn, Tenn., and Marie Rich, Muscle Shoals, Ala.; several nieces and nephews.
In addition to parents, he was preceded in death by brothers, Orbie Rich, Arvil Rich and wife, Edith Mae, Joel Rich; sisters, Gladys Balentine and husband, Ray, Alta Scott and husband, Earl, Nona Sandusky and husband, Jay, Christine Patterson and husband, Aaron, and Nina Brewer; sister-in-law, Iva Dean Rich; a niece and nephews.
Services will be today, Jan. 4, 2015, at 2 p.m. at Shackelford Funeral Directors chapel, Collinwood, Tenn., with Chad Balentine officiating. Burial with military rites will follow in Memorial Gardens, Collinwood, Tenn. Shackelford Funeral Directors, Wayne County, directing.
Pallbearers will be Darwin and Stan Rich, E.J. Rich, Randall Patterson, Danny Sandusky, Johnny McLemore, Sherman Martin, Carl Fred Daniel. Honorary pallbearers are Bobby Daniel, Cleo Reed, Billy Joe Caperton, H.D. Luker, Henry Hemmen, Marion Rich, Bennie Butler and Ricky Richardson.
Special note of thanks to Dr. David Hollis and staff for help throughout the years and El Reposo Nursing Home and staff for help and support.
Visitation will be 10 a.m. to service time at the funeral home.
