T. A. “Buck” Duke – Obituary

Brother T. A. “Buck” Duke, born January 18, 1931, in Siluria, Alabama, died April 18, 2015 in Muscle Shoals, Alabama.
His memorial service will be Friday, April 24, 2015, at 2 p.m. at Highland Park Baptist Church on Wilson Dam Road. His family will receive friends after the service until 5 p.m. at the church.
He received his B.A. Degree from Howard College (now Samford University) and his M.A. from New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary. His active ministry began in Mississippi while in seminary and continued at First Baptist of Anderson, Alabama, Irvington Baptist Mission, Irvington, Alabama, Woodward Avenue Baptist, Muscle Shoals, Alabama, Fairfield Highlands Baptist, Midfield, Alabama, Hook Street Baptist, Tuscumbia, Alabama, and in retirement, Cottage of the Shoals and Mitchell Hollingsworth Nursing Homes.
Survivors include his wife, Alice Underwood Duke; daughters, Johanna Duke Paley, Jo Ann Kitchen Bevis (Farron); sons, Chuck Kitchen (Mindy), Chet Kitchen; grandchildren, Kennedy Kitchen, Molly Kitchen, Hollis Kitchen, Hudson Kitchen, Kristy Bevis (Ben Tanner), Jessica Peebles Lewis (Wayne), Wesley Peebles and Alex Peebles; great-grandchildren, Zoe Lewis, Dylan Blake, Briley Blake, Brannon Lewis and Addison Peebles; nieces, nephews and many friends.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hook Street Baptist Church, 1021 N. Hook Street, Tuscumbia, AL 35674.
