Sylvian JacksonFuneral services for Sylvian Jackson, 89, of Hanceville will be 11:00 Friday, August 9th at Hanceville Funeral Home Chapel.  Brother Mark Dennis will be officiating.  Burial will follow the service at Hopewell Cemetery.  Visitation will be Thursday August 8th from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. at Hanceville Funeral Home.

Born in a small town in East Tennessee, Sylvian grew up with 4 sisters and 1 brother.  She was a graduate of Everett High School in 1953.  After school she became a clerk at Profit’s and shortly thereafter married in 1955 to Dwight Jackson, who left this world in 1991.  She moved to Alabama and started her family.  Gracing this world with two wonderful children.  She loved spending time working in the garden and tending to her cats and dogs throughout the years.  Anytime you drove by her house, it was likely you would see her picking up sticks in her yard.  Sylvian spent her working years at Wrangler in Hanceville, Alabama, inspecting and sewing on belt loops.  She was a lifelong member of  East Hanceville Baptist Church for many years.  Loved and respected by all, there was no better Mother and Granny on this earth.  She will be immensely missed, but her love for family and friends never went unnoticed.  Spending any amount of time with her would put a smile on your face.  We love you!  “Don’t forget to call when you get home!”

Mrs. Jackson is survived by her son, Ronnie Jackson; daughter, Dinah Vickery; grandson, Chadwick Hand (Haley); great grandson, Cash Dansby Hand; siblings, Loretta Gilland, Cillian Davis, Juanita Mathews, Virgil Everett, Gailya Leonard; and a host of nieces and nephews, family and friends.

Mrs. Jackson was preceded in death by her husband, Dwight Jackson; parents, Roy & Pearl Everett; brothers-in-law, Carol Mathews, & Harold Davis; and her niece, and Debbie Greaser.
