Funeral Services for Sylvia Taylor, age 88 of Cullman, will be at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, July 7, 2017 in the Cullman Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow at New Hope #2, Rev. Etsil Riddle officiating.

Mrs. Taylor was born on September 18, 1928 to the late Robert David & Virginia Estelle Martin Blackwood; she passed away on July 3, 2017 at her residence. Sylvia was a member of Oak Level Baptist Church. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Hubert Otis “Joe” Taylor; sisters, Ruth (Perry) White & Gearldean (Leon) Goodwin; brothers, Roy (Virginia) Blackwood & Billy (Betty) Blackwood; one great-great-granddaughter, Alissa Paradise Michelle Stager.
Survivors include Daughter – Kathy Gibson; 2 – Sons – Jack (Kay) Taylor & Ed (Vicky) Taylor; 2 – Sisters – Faynell (Jim) Rosenbalm & Nedra (Kenneth) Smith; Brother – Eual (Hilda) Blackwood; 5 – Grandchildren – David Firlik, Jennifer Obblish, Kelly Jo Firlik, Joe Taylor & Kristy Gibbs; 11 – Great-Grandchildren; 10- Great-Great-Grandchildren.
The family will receive friends for visitation at the funeral home on Thursday, July 6, 2017 from 5:30 p.m. until 9:00 p.m.
