Sylvia June Roper Hare age 85, of Baileyton passed away Sunday Oct. 1, 2023, at Cullman Regional Medical Center. June was born on March 24, 1938, in Cullman County, the daughter of Robert and Sylvia Inez Thompson Roper. She graduated from Fairview High School and went on to get her master’s degree from U.A.B. She taught at Fairview Elementary for 30 years before retiring. She was a member of Baileyton Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her daughter: Robyn Hare and son: Herbert Cecil “Herbie” Hare. Survivors include her grandchildren: Ashley (Larry) Butler and Donnie Shaw; great granddaughter: KiLynn Erwin. Funeral service will be Friday Oct. 6, 2023, at 3 PM at Gober Funeral Chapel with Bro. Shane Hicks officiating. Burial will follow in Arab Memorial Cemetery. Visitation will be from 1:30-3 PM Friday at Gober Funeral Chapel.
