Sylvia Dianne Marlin Chapin, 86, of Florence, passed away on April 8th, 2024. She was preceded in death by her parents, Homer Marlin and Rebecca Helton Marlin; husband Bill Chapin; son James Brian Chapin; cousin James “Punkin” Hill; daughter-in-law, Debra Chapin; and granddaughter, Hope Chapin. She is survived by her brother-in-law, Tommy Chapin; daughter, Lisa Chapin Willis; son, Neal Chapin; daughter, Ronnie Chapin Chandler (Kevin); grandchildren, Nichole Willis, Joey Willis, Heather Chapin Plaxco (Mitchell), Christopher Chapin, Dylan Shaw (Lauren), Corey Chapin (Allie), Clay Chapin (Molly), Lilly Chandler, and Harrison Chandler; great-grandchildren, Jailey, Ty Walker, Kaleia, Della, Everett, Collins, Henry James, and Judson; great-great granddaughter, Rhylein; and many cousins, nieces, and nephews that she loved dearly. The family would like to extend their gratitude to Sylvia’s granddaughter, Nichole Willis, whose companionship and care for Sylvia allowed her to remain at home during the twilight of her life; Jeff and Valerie Wright, who went above and beyond the call as just “neighbors” and provided Sylvia a sense of safety at home. Also, they would like to thank the wonderful team at Preferred Hospice and Mary Robinson for their care and support, and Rosemary Irons and Sheila Fell for their unwavering friendship through the years. Sylvia was a longtime member of Hendrix Chapel Church of Christ in Cloverdale. Visitation will be Saturday, April 13th from 12 to 2 with the funeral following at Greenview Funeral Home with Brother Wayne Wood of Hendrix Chapel presiding. Burial will immediately follow at Greenview Cemetery. Pallbearers will be her grandsons, Joey Willis, Christopher Chapin, Dylan Shaw, Corey Chapin, Clay Chapin, and Harrison Chandler. Honorary pallbearers will be Tommy Morson, WL Butler, Bill Farris, Robert Coats, Steve Irons, and David Shelton.
