Sylvia Cribbs RidgewaySylvia Cribbs Ridgeway, 82, of Athens, passed away on Tuesday, May 25, 2021 at Limestone Health Facility. Mrs. Ridgeway was born December 28, 1938 to James Onnie Cribbs and Bertis Lovell Cribbs of Athens.
She was a devoted Christian having served as a member of the W. Hobbs Street Church of Christ, the Central Church of Christ and the Seven Mile Post Road Church. She served the Limestone County farming community as a clerk at the Limestone County U.S. Department of Agriculture Field Office (Cotton Office) for 49 years and was a member of the Board of Directors of the Houston Memorial Library in Athens.

She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Paul Vernon Ridgeway; and her grandson, Gary Grant Ridgeway, Jr.

She is survived by her sons, Gary Grant Ridgeway and Terry Brent Ridgeway, and her daughter-in-law, Debbi Kipp Ridgeway; her former daughter-in-law, Amy Page Rathmann; her grandchildren, Ashley Ridgeway Thompson(Laurance), Paul Ryn Ridgeway(MaCayla), Molly Ridgeway Moore (Evan), and Riley Ridgeway Rhodes (Ben); and her great grandchildren, Liam Thompson, Emma Thompson, Hattie Thompson, and Bennett Rhodes.

Visitation will be Friday 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM at Limestone Chapel Funeral Home with funeral services at 1:00 PM. Burial will be at Roselawn Cemetery in Athens.

Pallbearers will be Ryn Ridgeway, Laurance Thompson, Evan Moore, Ben Rhodes, Neal Whitt and Jason Ridgeway.
