Sylvia Bobbie Faye Swann, age 85, passed away on Friday, October 6, 2023 due to complications from a fall. Her final moments were spent surrounded by the love of her family.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, October 10, 2023 at 12:00 p.m. at Collins-Burke Funeral Home, funeral services will follow at 1:00 p.m. in the Collins-Burke Chapel. Burial will be at Mount Zion Cemetery.
She is preceded in death by her Husband-Kenneth D. Swann; Son-Bobby Daniel Swann; Parents-Ben and Lenora Thomas; Sisters–Bea Tolbert and Agnes Peters; Brothers-Curtis and Horace Thomas.
She is survived by her Daughters-Kendra Blackmon(Alan) and Sonya Carter; Son-Darrell Swann(Jeannie); Grandchildren-Falan Bryars, Kalan Busby(Michael), Haley Carter(Chad), Sylvia Duke(Tyler), Asley and Fredrick DeLeon, and Matthew Carter; Great Grandchildren-Madison, Clayde, Kira, RJ, Allie, Hannah, Ashton, and Alaya.
Bobby worked as a bank teller for 35 years, loved to sit in her swing on the porch and enjoyed visiting with her family and friends. Known for her spirited personality and love of her children, Bobby will be dearly missed by all who knew her. The family asks that she be remembered for the joy she brought to others in life, not the sadness of her passing.
