Suspect Arrested In Missing Funds From Decatur Business

DECATUR-The Decatur Police made an arrest on a Theft of Property Charge from the Decartur Education Support Professionals.  Here is hoew they describe the arrest:

SYNOPSIS OF OFFENSE & ARREST:

“A representative of the Decatur Education Support Professionals Association reported a theft of money from the association’s bank account to the Decatur Police Department. During the investigation, The association’s treasurer, Tabetha L. McLaurin was developed as a suspect.

As a result of the investigation, a warrant for the arrest of Tabetha McLaurin was obtained for First Degree Theft on July 29th 2014. On July 30th of 2014, McLaurin was located and arrested by Officer T.D. Jones.

McLaurin was processed into the Decatur City Jail and then transferred to the Morgan County Jail in lieu of a $5,000 bond.

Theft of property which exceeds $2,500 constitutes Theft of Property in the First Degree.
Theft of Property in the First Degree is a Class B Felony.”
