ATHENS-Police Chief Floyd Johnson released a statement on the arrest of a suspect wanted for Assault 2nd Degree:
“Aleia Jean Johnson was arrested this morning on a warrant for assault 2nd degree. On June 8, 2016 officers responded to a call of an altercation on Westmoreland Ave.
When officers arrived they located a 31 year old female that was bleeding from her face and arms. The victim told officers she was attacked and cut by Johnson. The victim also told officers she was attacked because she had been talking with Johnson’s husband.
The victim went to the emergency room by private vehicle and was treated.
The warrant was issued on June 9, 2016. Johnson was booked at the police department and transferred to the county jail. “
