susieSusie Willis (Sue) Reid Malone, 93, died Oct. 24, 2016, in Nashville, Tennessee. A worship service will be held at Allsboro Cumberland Presbyterian Church, Cherokee, Saturday, Oct. 29. Visitation is noon-1 p.m. Service is 1 p.m. officiated by the Rev. John Hyden (nephew). The pianist is Mrs. Joel (Trenelia) Malone Hamm (niece).

Survivors include sister, Mrs. Lee (Mae) Hyden; children, Peggy (Doug) Phelps and Joyce (Neil) Wilding, of Kingston Springs, Tennessee, Marilyn (Randy) Elliott, of Nashville, Tennessee, and Ross Anthony (Patti) Malone, of Hixson, Tennessee; eight grandchildren; and ten great-grandchildren with the eleventh due on December 29th which would have been her 94th birthday. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Ralston (Ross) Malone; parents, William Amos Reid Sr. and Della Lucy Reid; brothers, Elbert, Charlie Lee, Nathaniel, W.A. Jr., and Paul; sisters, Ruth Bishop, Joy Bishop, Pearl Bolding, and Fae Campbell.

Mrs. Malone was married to Ross Malone for 69 years. She was a loving and helpful mother, grandmother, sister and neighbor, devoted church member who cleaned, cooked, taught, and in early years played piano, excellent cook, seamstress, gardener, and flower arranger.

Pallbearers are Grant Elliott, Mark Malone, Greg Phelps, Scott Phelps, Elwood Hyden, Eric Reid, Dwight Reid, and Eddie Broome. Honorary pallbearers are Andy Bolding, Tim Bolding, Hubert E. (Buddy) Bishop, Randy Elliott, Scott Curry, Matthew Grimes, Paul Malone, Doug Phelps, and Ethan Wilding.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Neighborhood Christian Centers, Inc. 619 Bank St. NW, Decatur, AL 35601.
