Susie Campbell Huey, 94, of Decatur, passed away on June, 21, 2017. Susie was born on May 23, 1923 in Bessemer to Albert Eugene and Edythe Bell Mason Campbell. She was retired from Decatur City Schools. Mrs. Huey had been a member of Central Baptist Church since 1968 where she served in many areas including teaching Sunday school and playing in the ukulele choir. She is preceded in death by her parents; her loving husband of 59 years, Banes Milton Huey, Jr.; her sisters, Elizabeth Byram, Doris Crowe, Mary Brown McDonald and son-in-law, Dwight Brown.
She is survived by her brother, J.P. Campbell of Hueytown; three daughters, Lynne Marks (Herman), Darla Brown and Peggy McKleroy (Alan), all of Decatur; five grandchildren, Jay Brown, Adam Brown (Elaine), Ashley Lawson (Ben), Amber McKleroy and April McKleroy and four great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be today, June 23, 2017 at noon at Roselawn Funeral Home with visitation from 10:30 a.m. to noon. Burial will be in Roselawn Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be nephews and close friends.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the building fund for Central Baptist Church in Decatur or Hospice of North Alabama.
